A new professional three-band field indicator designed to detect all types of radio frequency listening devices, including analog and digital, as well as those that transmit information over mobile networks and use wireless standards. Frequency range: 50 MHz — 12 GHz.
The frequency range 1216 is divided into 3 parts, each of which is displayed on a separate scale: "VHF / UHF 50-700 MHz", "Mobile and wireless devices 700 MHz-3 GHz" and "Microwave (microwave) and wireless devices 3-12 GHz". The separate display allows the operator to better understand what type of signal is detected, detect multiple signals at the same time, and search near interference sources. While the overall sensitivity of a standard field indicator/RF detector drops near any interference, the iProtect 1216 reduces sensitivity in only one band and maintains high sensitivity in the rest.
The" microwave band " of the iProtect 1216 covers frequencies of 3-12 GHz. This range allows you to detect Wi-Fi 5GHz and other wireless protocols operating at higher frequencies. Since the microwave frequencies are not detected by standard RF detectors, it is assumed that they are more hidden. iProtect 1216 easily finds these signals. To reduce the attenuation in the wiring, the microwave circuits 1216 are located directly in the housing of the microwave antenna.
During the search, it is recommended to disable all known secure radio devices, such as Wi-Fi access points, wireless devices, and mobile phones. But despite this, interference can come from neighboring rooms, and create false alarms. In this case, the Alarm function will help the operator eliminate background noise by adjusting the threshold. When the signal exceeds the trigger threshold, the device generates a warning signal. The alarm is also extremely convenient when searching in hard-to-reach places or when working in "guard"mode. The alarm threshold has 48 setup steps.
In the "ONE BAND" display mode, in addition to the indicator on the main display, the iProtect 1216 shows a histogram for the selected range. The histogram shows the history of the signal received in the last 5 seconds, and is very informative when observing periodic signals or when searching quickly.
Compared to conventional RF detectors, the iProtect 1216 has a significantly higher sensitivity to 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth devices. This advantage was achieved by using additional radio frequency channels in the circuit, which are responsible for certain frequency ranges. Therefore, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a number of other wireless protocols operating in the 2.4/5 GHz bands are detected at an increased distance.
In addition to displaying the indicator, the iProtect 1216 can identify certain types of signals and display the corresponding message on the information display. Analyzing the information processed by the receiving path, 1216 identifies the following signals: a DECT wireless device in the "standby" state, an active DECT device, GSM, 3G, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth.
